Preamble
Smt. Dankunwar Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jalna is committed to fostering a vibrant
ecosystem of research and innovation
that drives knowledge creation, addresses societal challenges, enhances
teaching-learning processes, and contributes to national development.
This policy outlines the principles, objectives, and mechanisms to
promote, support, and govern research and innovation activities undertaken
by our faculty, staff, and students.

innovative solutions, and scholarly contributions that advance knowledge
and serve the community.
Mission

Key Objectives:
1. Promoting Research Culture

To instill a strong research ethos among faculty, staff, and students, encouraging active
participation in research and scholarly activities.
- To integrate research components into the curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate
levels.

To organize workshops, seminars, and training programs on research methodologies,
intellectual property rights (IPR), and responsible conduct of research.
2. Facilitating Research Activities:
- To provide necessary infrastructure, including well-equipped laboratories, access to
e-resources, research journals, and advanced software, to support cutting-edge research.
- To establish and strengthen research centers/units focusing on thrust areas relevant to
local, national, and global needs.
- To offer seed money and internal grants to encourage faculty and students to initiate
research projects.
3. Encouraging Publication and Dissemination:
- To motivate and support faculty and students to publish their research findings in reputed
national and international journals (peer-reviewed, indexed, and with good impact factors).
- To facilitate participation in national and international conferences, seminars, and
workshops for presenting research work.
- To encourage the writing of textbooks, monographs, and book chapters based on research and
expertise.
- To maintain a comprehensive database of all research projects, publications, and patents
by the college community.
4. Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship:
- To create an environment that nurtures innovative ideas and encourages the development of
prototypes, products, and services.
- To establish an Incubation Cell or Innovation Centre to support student and faculty
startups.
- To provide mentorship, technical guidance, and linkages with industry for
commercialization of innovative ideas.
- To create awareness about patents, copyrights, and other forms of intellectual property
and assist in their protection.
5. Promoting Collaboration and Funding:
- To encourage interdepartmental, interdisciplinary, and institutional collaborations with
other academic institutions, research organizations, industry, and government agencies.
- identify and inform researchers about appropriate funding opportunities from national and
international agencies (e.g., UGC, DST, DBT, ICSSR, industry partners).
- To provide administrative and technical support for drafting and submitting research
proposals.
6. Ensuring Research Ethics and Integrity:
- To uphold the highest standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in all research
activities.
- To establish a Research Ethics Committee to review and approve research proposals
involving human subjects, animal welfare, or sensitive data.
- To implement strict measures to prevent research misconduct, including plagiarism, data
fabrication, and falsification, utilizing plagiarism detection software.
- To ensure transparency and accountability in the use of research funds.
Implementation Mechanism:
- Research and Innovation Committee (RIC): A dedicated committee, comprising
senior faculty members and experts, will be constituted to oversee and guide all research
and innovation activities. The RIC will be responsible for policy formulation, review of
research proposals, monitoring progress, and recommending incentives.
- Departmental Research Coordinators: Each department will have a designated
research coordinator to facilitate research activities within the department and liaise with
the RIC.
- Allocation of Resources: The college will allocate a dedicated budget for
research and innovation, including seed money, publication incentives, conference travel
grants, and infrastructure development.
- Recognition and Incentives: Deserving faculty and students will be
recognized and incentivized for their outstanding research and innovation contributions
through awards, promotions, and other forms of appreciation.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Regular monitoring and evaluation of research
and innovation activities will be conducted to assess progress, identify areas for
improvement, and ensure alignment with the college's vision and objectives. Annual research
reports will be published to highlight achievements.
Scope of the Policy
This policy applies to all faculty members, researchers, students (undergraduate, postgraduate,
and doctoral), and staff involved in any form of research, scholarly, or innovation activity
under the aegis of Smt. Dankunwar Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jalna. It encompasses
basic, applied,
and strategic research; scholarly activities like writing textbooks and developing curricula;
creative endeavours leading to new knowledge; and student research projects.
Review and Amendment
This policy will be reviewed periodically, at least once every year, or as deemed necessary by
the college administration, to adapt to evolving research landscapes, national policies (NEP
