Library Services and Facilities
The Library and Information Centre of Smt. Dankunwar Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jalna plays a pivotal role in supporting teaching, learning, and research activities of the institution. The library provides a wide range of services and modern facilities to meet the academic, informational, and research needs of students and faculty members.
1. Circulation Services
The library follows an open access system, enabling users to browse and select books directly from the shelves. Services include issue, return, renewal, and reservation of books as per library rules. Proper guidance is provided by library staff for effective utilization of resources.
2. Reference and Information Services
The library offers reference services to assist users in locating information from books, journals, and other resources. Subject-specific reference materials such as encyclopaedias, dictionaries, handbooks, and reports are available for consultation within the library.
3. Reading Room Facility
A well-furnished and peaceful reading room is available for students and staff. The reading room provides a conducive environment for study, reference work, and academic preparation, with adequate seating and lighting facilities.
4. Periodical and Newspaper Section
The library subscribes to various journals, magazines, and newspapers to keep users updated with current developments in academics, research, and general knowledge. A dedicated periodical section is maintained for easy access.
5. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)
Library is undergoing Digital by digitising its catalogues. Users will be able to search library holdings through OPAC/Web-OPAC, enabling them to locate books and other materials efficiently by author, title, subject, or accession number in the coming future.
6. Computer and Internet Facilities
The library provides access to computer systems with internet connectivity for academic purposes. These facilities support online learning, access to e-resources, preparation of assignments, and research activities.
7. Orientation and User Education
The library conducts orientation programmes for newly admitted students and staff to familiarize them with library resources, services, rules, and the use of OPAC and digital facilities.
8. New Arrivals and Current Awareness Services
Newly acquired books and resources are displayed in the New Arrivals Section and updated regularly on the library website to keep users informed about recent additions.
9. Reprographic Services
Limited photocopying, printing, and scanning facilities are provided for academic use as per library norms, especially for curriculum-related materials.
